Bible Verse of the Day, Thursday 20th March 2025

Open Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, acknowledging that You have called us to be the light of the world. Thank You for the privilege of reflecting Your love, truth, and grace in our daily lives. As we meditate on Your Word today, open our eyes to understand our role as bearers of Your light. Strengthen us to shine brightly in a world that desperately needs Your presence. May we live in such a way that others are drawn to You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Bible Verse (Matthew 5:14, NKJV):
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Short Message:
Jesus calls His followers “the light of the world,” a powerful reminder of our purpose in Him. Just as light dispels darkness, we are to reflect the love, truth, and righteousness of Christ to a world in need. A city on a hill is visible from afar, symbolizing that our faith should be evident in our actions, words, and love. We are not meant to blend into the darkness but to stand out, guiding others toward Jesus. When we live according to His Word, our lives become a testimony of God’s grace and power.

Lessons from Matthew 5:14:
1. We Are Called to Shine – Our faith should be visible, impacting those around us (Philippians 2:15).

2. Light Overcomes Darkness – The presence of Christ in us drives out sin and fear (John 1:5).

3. Our Lives Should Reflect Christ – Just as the moon reflects the sun’s light, we should reflect Jesus’ love and character (2 Corinthians 3:18).

4. We Cannot Be Hidden – A true Christian life will stand out and attract others to God’s truth (Ephesians 5:8-9).
Shining for God’s Glory – Our purpose is to lead others to glorify God, not ourselves (Matthew 5:16).
